Includes research on reading habits of deaf adults, emergent literacy and young deaf readers, parent-child book reading, comprehension monitoring strategies, the metalanguage to conduct reading lessons, how young deaf children develop writing skills, and the use of ASL summaries to increase comprehension. A series of Teachers' Guides which give reading ideas using the periodical World Around You are also given. |
