Literacy
Includes research on reading habits of deaf adults, emergent literacy and young deaf readers, parent-child book reading, comprehension monitoring strategies, the metalanguage to conduct reading lessons, how young deaf children develop writing skills, and the use of ASL summaries to increase comprehension. A series of Teachers' Guides which give reading ideas using the periodical World Around You are also given.
Bilingual-Bicultural Approaches
Includes three monographs on a five year longitudinal study on Bilingual language teaching approaches, letters to the editor with parents on bilingual approaches, book reviews supporting the bilingual approach, a series of parent questions and answers on deaf bilingual education, and a study setting up a bilingual program in a mainstream program.
Teacher-Training
Includes articles and grants submitted on the training of deaf teachers, minority teachers and minority deaf teachers and leaders. A book chapter on setting up deaf education programs in the Middle East including the Gaza Strip and Jordan, and China is given.
Technology
