Dr. Amy Pemberton, PhD - Associate Professor

Amy Pemberton, Program Director of the Lamar University Dietetic Internship Program, holds a PhD in community Health Sciences from the University of Texas School of Public Health-Houston.  Her M.S. and B.S. degrees are from Lamar University.  Dr. Pemberton, a member of the graduate faculty, teaches courses in Research Methods, Cultural Foods, Sports Nutrition, and Current Topics courses including World Hunger Issues, Nutritional Epidemiology, Nutrition in Aging, and Child and Adolescent Nutrition.
 
 

Dr. Kim Wallet-Chalambaga - Assistant Professor

Kim Wallet-Chalambaga is Director of the Family Studies program at Lamar University since 1994.  She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University, her Master's degree Family Studies from Michigan State University and her Ph.D. in Family Life Education and Consultation from Kansas State University.  Her research interests include the relationship between occupation and marital satisfaction, and technology and families.  She is a member of several professional organizations including the National Council on Family Relations, the Texas Council on Family Violence and the American Association for Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
 
 

Dr. Frances Droddy - Assistant Professor

Frances Droddy is program director for the Home Economics Education program.  She received her Ph.D. from Texas Woman's University in child development and family studies, Masters from Lamar University in home economics education and Bachelor of Science from Northwestern State University in home economics education.  She teaches courses in home economics education, consumer science, and child development.  Dr. Droddy belongs to several professional organizations including the National Association for the Education of Young Children, Vocational Home Economics Teachers of Texas and the American Association of Family and Consumer Science.

Anita Devillier, program director for Fashion Retailing & Merchandising, received her Master of Science degree from Texas Woman's University, and her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern State University.  Anita teaches courses in retailing buying, textiles, clothing construction, apparel production/distribution, fashion advertising/sales promotion and fashion history.  Prior to teaching at Lamar University, Anita worked in the apparel industry for JCPenney corporate Headquarters as a textile specialist, buyer and fashion designer.  She also has years of experience in retail management.

Sherry Batson received her Master of Science degree from Lamar University in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Information Processing Technology, her Bachelor was earned also at Lamar in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Interior Design.  Sherry currently teaches in the area of Interior Design and Fashion Design: 3D Design: Model Building, Design Illustration, and Fashion Illustration.
